Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball · JV Volleyball Team Loses Battle

ASEHBORO (September 21, 2018) – The Southwestern Randolph junior varsity volleyball team lost in three sets to Southern Alamance. Their record is now 11-3 overall and 5-2 in conference play.

The Cougars got off to a slow start against the Patriots and dropped the first set 16-25. After a brief intermission and pep talk for coach Jeff Perry, SWR climbed back into the game taking the second set 25-20. They would finally succumb to their adversaries in the third set by a score of 17-25.

Josie Allred had six kills and four blocks to lead the team in kills. Courtney Carlyle led the team in assists with 15 and also grabbed three digs. Peyton Routh and Caroline Wilson added eight digs apiece with Wilson also contributing five kills.

The Cougars will host Randleman on Monday with game time set to start at 5:00 p.m.
