Girls Varsity Volleyball · Varsity Volleyball Adds Another Mark to “W” Column


ASHEBORO (September 28, 2018) – The Southwestern Randolph girls’ varsity volleyball team continues to improve after another strong performance against Southern Guilford. They defeated the Storm 3-0 in a show of dominance. The Cougars improve to 14-3 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

SWR started off strong in the first set taking it by a score of 25-14. After the first set, the Storms got settled in, but the Cougars proved to be too much to handle as they took the 2ndand 3rdsets by a score of 25-17 in each.

Cassidy Schiebel had nine kills, four digs, and four assists. Payton Shiflet added five kills and four service aces to her stats while Meredith Smith grabbed 18 digs. Peyton LeRoy came away with 18 assists and six digs.

The Cougars will host Walter M. Williams on Tuesday, October 2 at 6:15 p.m. The last time these two teams met was earlier this year on September 6. During this contest, the Cougars won in three sets over the Bulldogs.
